One Year Since

It has been one year since I fulfilled a dream of going to Santorini.

It has been one year since I drank champagne in Champagne.
It has been one year since I was in Paris, what people call the most romantic city in the world.
It has been one year since I said enough was enough.

Thankfully, severing a profession and personal relationship and completely letting go of a dream I put so much effort in was the best thing for me. I endured mental abuse and though it can be replenished, a lot of money.  But with that break, I felt free! Free of the stress, free of the pressure and free to do whatever I wanted!

A year ago, my father, my stepmother and I were enjoying an amazing 7-course dinner at the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival on Maui. It may have been the wine but we befriended folks at our table, including newlyweds that were on their honeymoon. My father said to them that he was happy I was living my life and he was envious of what I was doing. I don’t have children and I have just come back from almost two weeks in Europe and I have just signed up for my online course to become a Travel Agent.
Since then, I have been to San Diego, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Fort Bragg, Mendocino, Barcelona, Los Angeles, Raleigh, Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Savannah. Ahead, I have Disneyland, back to Cabo San Lucas, Orlando, Fiji, Lake Tahoe and Portugal.
I am also Hawai’i, Disney and Princess Cruises Certified with a Napa Valley Wine certification in the works.

As a Wedding Planner and Coordinator as well (see the One Busy Bee meaning?), I remember being in Santorini, seeing Brides and Grooms posing for their photos with the sea and cliffs and their gorgeous background saying “I want to do that.  No, I CAN do that. And look at that, I am doing it! I want to travel for a living.
I may not be making the money I used to be making but I am enjoying my life on my own terms and in a healthy environment. If you have a dream, go after it! See the world. Take risks. Learn from your mistakes. It might be scary, but I promise you, it will be all worth it. Let me know how that works out.
