Beach Day in Ka’anapali, Maui

Baldwin Beach, Maui

The girls and I have been up since 1:30 AM for a tour to Haleakala to see the sunrise and bike down to Pa’ia. It has been a long but fun day. Funny, who responds to Slack messages from a volcano. This One Busy Bee does! We are finally at the beach, but with our laptops. I am here working, booking travel for my day job, checking up on finances for the company and Julia is off somewhere in the shade finishing up some Italian women’s group work. Kim briefly checked her email to find 4,000+ waiting for her. We all have been working extremely hard lately. We need this.

Some call it crazy, I call it getting it done! 🙂 OK, crazy works too.

I have been working like crazy for the day job that rescinded its layoff announcement on October 1st. On that day, I was aggressively looking for jobs here on Maui and didn’t plan to return to the mainland. A day to look for housing and buy myself a car here was the plan. But, the day job managed to work something out and has delayed those plans until further notice. I will learn more in the next few days. However, enjoying the rocking of the water, the sunny skies and the fact I was in my second home wonders if I will be able to call this place home soon. We shall see.

I love our business relationship

As I sit on this beach chair with the sun breaking through the many clouds that pass by, I can hear the waves crashing onto the beach and crave the warm, inviting water. We have about 45 minutes left of our beach chair rental and we will be heading off to find some happy hour specials and get sushi for dinner.

#OneBusyBee

I thankfully have three more full days here and I am looking forward to doing more of the beach One Busy Bee-style.

When Da Kitchen doesn’t open for 15 minutes, we work.

We do manage to have a great time though in between! You have to!

On a 23-mile bike ride down from Haleakala to Pa’ia. So much fun!
