I am a Bay Area native with years of experience in event coordinating, marketing and advertising, office management, customer service and the food and beverage industry. I went to San Francisco State University and majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I enjoyed planning, coordinating and running promotional events for Chevron and Toyota up and down the West Coast while at large international advertising agencies and small creative shops in San Francisco. While working full-time in advertising, I was going to college full-time and worked as a server and bartender on the weekends.
After my time in Advertising, I devoted my time to the food and beverage industry. Having a love for bartending and dealing with customers one-on-one, I went from being a part time bartender to Bar Manager, Marketing Manager and then Restaurant Manager over a year and a half. During this time, I managed and coordinated small company parties and luncheons to 200+ fundraising events and monthly UFC Pay-Per-View screenings and New Year’s Eve parties.
Staying busy, being the day-to-day contact for clients and customer service simply just fits my personality. I am also a Stella & Dot Independent Stylist and enjoy working with fashion accessories. Between 2013 and 2017, I was an Operating Partner and assisted with the development of one of seven sexiest restaurants in San Francisco, California according to Zagat. It was called Dirty Water. I took on the role as the Event Director from October 2015 to October 2017. We opened June 2015 and closed its doors July 2017.
Next, I focused on One Busy Bee Enterprises LLC: my new company as a Certified Travel Agent, experienced Event Planner and Marketer and Blogger. I am Disney, Princess Cruises and Hawai’i certified. I am currently in the process of becoming Napa Valley Wine Certified and looking to volunteer for a local non-profit benefiting Boston Terriers as I just lost my 10-year-old Boston, Bevo, due to a brain tumor in December 2018. To gain additional experience, I was also a Concierge at the beautiful Argonaut Hotel in San Francisco.
In the middle of this pandemic, travel and event planning has mainly been put on hold as we are encouraged to flatten the curve by staying home and continue social distancing. Until business picks up, I am a Project Manager for a sunroom and patio cover company, assisting with Marketing, Finance and HR for another startup and providing operational assistance for a second startup.
In my spare time pre-pandemic, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, watching movies and going to concerts – all while attempting to stay fit. I reside in the East Bay and have dreams of having a beach house on Maui.
This blog is a journey as an entrepreneur in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area that offers exposure to many different cultures, food, beverages, entertainment and the growing and very necessary tech and social media industries. Not only am I sharing what the Bay Area has to offer, I love to travel and want to explore and share what far off lands are like. Life is not meant to be spent in one place.
